If you want to ride the tram, be sure to get tickets, even though it is free. They kicked my family off the tram because we didn’t have tickets. They didn’t tell us that we needed tickets at the entrance so we missed out. Also, there were only a few animals in the wildlife area and none that could be pet.

Very convenient and organized. Chicora met us on time at the visitors’ center and we drove in a comfortable van for about half an hour to Magnolia. The commentary was informative but not incessant. Upon arrival they purchased tickets for activities at the plantation and explained where to be when. We were picked up at 3pm and driven back to Charleston. The plantation itself was beautiful with the azaleas adding a lot of color to the grounds. We especially enjoyed the nature ride which gave us a good opportunity to view the site.

excellent tour, just watch the clock, as you are responsible for making sure you are on time for all the tours you get tickets for, which are led by plantation staff not the driver, and making it back to the van on time. Some of the tour guides take close to an hour, so especially before the freedom to slavery portion allow enough time.

Thank you for the kind review. You are correct about the scheduling of the tours. Chicora Tours takes pride in giving guests the opportunity to do all three of the guided tours at Magnolia Plantation. Other companies do not do so. We hope to serve you again!
