The Magnolia Plantation tour is an all-inclusive tour experience of America's oldest botanical gardens. Guests will experience a variety of tours at Magnolia Plantation. This includes a guided house tour, a nature train of the gardens and grounds, and guided Slavery to Freedom Tour. Guests will also have free time to browse the gift shop and walk the grounds on their own.

Alligator and peacock sightings are likely. Transportation is provided to and from Charleston and Magnolia Plantation in our spacious and luxurious Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van. Magnolia Plantation is one of Charleston’s oldest and most spectacular plantations. It is an incredibly beautiful and historical site that includes a variety of botanical gardens and horticulture mixed with immense culture and heritage. Join Chicora Tours in seeing the beauty of Magnolia Plantation! The Magnolia Plantation Tour includes a guided historic house tour, a private nature train ride around the swamps and gardens and a private Slavery to Freedom tour. Transportation is provided from Downtown Charleston at the Charleston Visitor Center at 375 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29403. Transportation is provided in our spacious, luxurious and climate controlled Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van.

Don't get me wrong, the plantation grounds and house were quite lovely. This review is for the tour company. There is ZERO reason that this tour was $120.00. The tour at the plantation, the exact tour we purchased was $32.00. If you look at the description, it says "private transportation". If private means with 8 other of our closest "new" friends, that maybe that is it. The driver literally, dropped us off, handed out our tickets and said be back here at 3:00, someone else will pick you up. It was very easy to navigate, but the description is very misleading. If I were this company, I would be very ashamed of swindling customers out of $88.00 a person for the "private transportation". I would NEVER go with this company again. Run at all costs.

We’re sincerely sorry for the listing indicating “private transportation” for this tour. That was an error in the listing and it has now been fixed. I would have been more than happy to have discussed this with you and your dissatisfaction with the transportation situations 1) The admissions to Magnolia is $32.00. That price includes the nature train tour and the Slavery to Freedom tour. The house tour is a separate cost. We are also the only tour operator in Charleston that allows our guests to do all three of the guided tours at Magnolia Plantation. No other company does this. 2) This tour platform adds additional fees for companies to advertise their tours on. This is out of my control. We don’t make $120.00 per person. A majority of this goes towards Viator fees and our agreement with Magnolia Plantation. 3) Our primary function for this tour is to provide efficient and reliable transportation services to and from Magnolia Plantation to Charleston. We’re not allowed to conduct tours at Magnolia Plantation as a third-party. What most visitors don’t realize until it’s too late is that getting transportation such as Uber or Lyft (for example for Magnolia to Plantation to downtown Charleston) is virtually impossible and very expensive. 4) the price of an Uber x to Magnolia Plantation (one way) is $40.00. $80.00 round trip. An Uber XL one way is $50.00. $100.00. This is dependent on even being able to get one. I understand your frustration and disappointment, but I don’t appreciate you accusing us of being swindlers. That is an extreme allegation and completely false. we have several positive reviews on this tour and have over 50 star reviews on Google. We’re sorry that you were dissatisfied with your experience but please do deeper research on pricing of experiences before you accuse a company of swindling you out of money.
