Our Sunset hike with Matt from Mad Desert Trekking was incredible! Matt was very knowledgeable about the desert and shared fascinating information about every plant and landmark we passed on our hike. Matt adjusted the difficulty of our hike on the fly, and got us to an incredible spot to view the sunset at a perfect time! Matt guided 7 of us up 800 ft of elevation in the Sonoran desert. He was so informative and fun! We just loved him! Book this tour! He kept up a good pace to accommodate us all. He made sure to take photos of us to cherish later. He truly loves what he does and it shows!

Matt at Mad Desert was a stellar guide…we are very pleased with his expertise in navigation, and more importantly, his knowledge of the history of the Phoenix Mountains Reserve, its vegetation, geography, animals, etc. Matt does a tremendous amount of hiking, trail running, climbing, paddle boarding, etc. - subsequently, he was able to offer us excellent tips on a variety of related topics such as options for clothing, footwear, other gear, as well as foreign and domestic options for hiking based on our skill level.
