Overview

The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. Great morning trip down the creek. Great for beginners and families. It was a rainy morning but the rain actually cooled everything down. It was a pretty and our guide Margarita was very nice. I highly recommend this trip and I look forward to taking some more from Amelia Adventures. Nice job!

Had such a great (birthday!) trip down Lofton Creek! My husband was SO nervous, never having been in a kayak, but he made quick work of learning the few key moves and was having fun within minutes. This creek is perfect for beginners! Very peaceful and no current or tide to contend with. I love the cover of the trees and the gorgeous Spanish moss. We did see a couple of baby gators! They all leave us alone, of course. The guide was great and was doing an awesome job capturing moments with the camera. Can't wait to get our photos from the trip! I did still take a few with my own phone camera.
