Amelia Island Guided Kayak Tour of Lofton Creek

Overview
The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is a guaranteed good time for everyone in your group!

My husband, daughter, and son-in-law went on the Lofton Creek paddle and had a wonderful time. Catherine is a very knowledgeable guide, and we were able to see alligators, turtles and birds! This is a peaceful paddle in a unique blackwater creek, different from any kayak adventure we‘ve done before. It‘s definitely suitable for newcomers to paddling, but also interesting and different for those more experienced. We paddled upstream, would love to come back and do it again going downstream to see more scenery.

My husband and I went on the Cumberland Island Kayak tour. What a wonderful trip! Thomas, our guide, was awesome. We got to see a manatee, dolphins, and wild horses on land and in the water. It was an amazing sight! We’d highly recommend Amelia Adventures for a unique and fun way to see the beautiful area.

I was lucky enough to go on the Cumberland Island kayak tour yesterday and highly recommend it! It’s a great and unique way to experience the beauty of the northern point of Amelia Island, cross state lines while on the water and see a wide variety of wildlife including birds, fish, sharks, crabs, manatee and wild horses. Plus Catherine and Thomas are the perfect guides—full of knowledge, expertise and warmth.
