Amelia Island Guided Kayak Tour of Lofton Creek

Overview
The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is a guaranteed good time for everyone in your group!

Jeff and Garrett were our guides. Jeff took the lead and was a really nice guy and very knowledgable. It is about 2 hours in the river so plan for that. No current to speak of, but it is still quite a bit of work. We didnt see any gators, but they do often. Saw a slider turtle, that was it for wildlife. It gives you a chance to see a very peaceful, different side of FL

What a great way to discover Amelia Island! Our guide, Rachel, is simply the best. Our group was a nice mix, pre-schoolers to seniors, and a nice size so we had lots of room to maneuver down Lofton Creek. The kayaks and life vests were very clean. Rachel learned our names immediately and engaged us in conversation as we paddled down the creek, pointing out turtles, small gators, and native plants. Her knowledge and positive attitude made the trip so enjoyable; plus, she took pictures of us in our kayaks! I highly recommend this experience.

Had a nice relaxing time enjoying nature and easy kayaking with really calm water while also learning a bit of Florida.
