The shear volume of artifacts was mind blowing. If I lived in the city I would need a membership, and a monthly plan of concentrating on one floor at a time.

The only reason I went into this museum was cause my partner really wanted to go and I didn't realize how badly I wanted to go until I was actually inside and just not wanting to leave. It is GINORMOUS. It has 4 floors and SO MUCH to look at, I would have loved to spend the whole day. One to two hours is not enough! There's something for everybody. From human anatomy and evolution to Dinosaurs and Fossils to Animals under water and land to freakin space and crystals! EVERYTHING!! Definitely worth the trip and day. They close really early as well 5:30, I fully regret not making more time for it and saving it for last.

Very poorly managed: grossly insufficient signage and directions inside. So easy to fix this, no one in management seems to care. Also the website is poorly designed, it is even difficult for tourists to determine how to get in. Information on shows is also poor. On the rainy Yom Kippur (October) Wednesday, was very crowded very noisy. The cafƩ on the fourth floor has beer, wine, hot soup, packaged sandwiches and snacks. There are two absolutely enormous dinosaur skeletons. The Hayden planetarium show was a painful waste of time. The producer perhaps a George Lucas wannabe employed excessive noise and useless streaking colors to mask a script that lacked content or cohesiveness. Bring earplugs and eye shades if you go. Upon exiting, the audience is not allowed to return to exhibits on the third floor but is forced to go down into its museum store.
