My boyfriend and I purchased tickets online without anyone saying you could not do so and the ticket scanning man was so unprofessional and rude. Instead of him kindly explaining to us that we bought the wrong tickets he rudely yelled at us to get back in line and did not explain to us what we needed to do to get the correct tickets. Beautiful museum but staff is highly rude.

No matter how old. No matter how many times you’ve been to museums. This is still one of the best in the world. Great exhibitions all around. So well displayed and organized. PS use the app it’s a time saver and really well designed. We did the butterfly exhibit which was totally cool and worth it.

My siblings and I had pre-booked our tickets in advance via the official website. On arrival we didn't have to queue and got straight in once our tickets were checked. The museum is split over 4 floors and I would highly recommend the official app which tells you exactly where you are at all times and provides a clear map to follow. We found the exhibits to be very interesting and well laid out. The space items were our favourite and we enjoyed the "Worlds Beyond" show inside the Planetarium (additional cost). We went on a Thursday afternoon when the weather was good and it was not busy at all. We had previously tried to visit on a rainy day during out 2023 visit to NYC and the queues were massive as everyone has the same idea when the weather is bad so plan accordingly. Overall, this was a great experience and I would highly recommend for anyone visiting NYC.
