My rating is from the perspective of an educated adult moderately interested in natural sciences and very interested in history. By the time you've finished school you've probably covered what's here. If you decide to go, do *NOT buy tickets from Viator* online. I meant to buy from the museum website (and don't mind paying the full price even though you can give a donation of any amount to get in). Somehow I clicked on the wrong place on the amha.org site (no doubt an innocent looking ad) and got hijacked by Viator. It's not unusual for venues to use 3rd party ticket orgs to process payments so I didn't think anything of it. When we arrived, we had to stand in the exact same long line we would have had we just gone to the museum without tickets. It was a waste of 30 minutes - and just plain annoying.

Amazing experience, spent 4 hours and it was the best museum of natural history of all the ones that I have visited. It does not matter what age you will love it

We came as a family on holiday from the UK looking for an alternative to do to the usual sightseeing and shopping and we stumbled upon a very d school but wonderful museum that truly needs to be seen to be believed with so much go do we didn't even have time in our 5 hours inside to see everything. Great value day out for all ages in a great and easy to get to location being just across from central park. My only criticism would be that for a place with so many staff you get very little interaction with them which disappointed me but by no means spoiled my experience
