The museum is great. Unfortunately, I double booked entry and so it cost a bit to get in. Also, traveling by subway was unusually challenging. Due to construction, the trip from midtown took 1.5 hrs, instead of 15 minutes. But, it is an amazing place. I would not advise going in mid-summer. It is very crowded. I also suggest eating at one of the smaller restaurants instead of the large one in the lower level. The noise and crowd is challenging.

This was my second time to visit the AMNH. I loved it. I was a little rushed so I recommend planning to go slow and try to read as much as you can to really get the history and stories behind the exhibitions. But even a run-through is helpful. You get to see such diversity in our created world. We did the Invisible Worlds experience. I was ok. I didn't love it. Extremely stimulating. I wouldn't say I learned much through it. It's fun for kids to run around chasing the moving lights. I also did the Worlds Beyond Earth Planetarium experience. I liked it very much but still was a bit underwhelmed. Would I do it again? Maybe, if I just wanted a broad view of our solar system. If time is of the essence I think I'd skip the exhibitions and focus on the main parts of the museum.

Nice few hours here and a decent price. We went on a Thursday and it wasnt overly crowded, nice relief from the scorching heat. Our favorite parts were the bug exhibits and the planetarium movie- it was awesome- highly recommend doing that as your extra. You have to queue up to get in, moved fast, then had a 10 minute wait to exchange voucher for ticket and book the planetarium time.
