We had a very interesting tour. Drove in a small van through the landscape where the Amish work and live. Jim, our fantastic guide, told us a lot. He was also curious about our history in the Netherlands. Normally you get out at a shop on Sunday, you see people working in the fields and the children go to school. They go to church on Sundays every other week. So you can't see much of their clothing. Watched an original film. Jim then showed us a house and interior furnished by the Amish themselves, which the Amish regularly update. Jim got a good idea of their lives, habits, faith and education. Top tour!

Experience not to be missed. It's enchanting to sink into the atmosphere of 100 years ago, where people still travel by horse-drawn carriage, where they still use the plow pulled by oxen and there is no TV in the houses, indeed there is no electricity at all - I thought it was all a tourist gimmick (and maybe it partly is) but seeing them with your own eyes is a whole different story. They have the "bishop" for decisions of all kinds and the teacher teaches all the children regardless of age and if she gets married she will have to give way to someone else. They produce their own creams, soaps, carve wood, and embroider and can sell their products as a source of livelihood. It is not unusual to meet ladies dressed in their typical costumes with long skirts and bonnets in the supermarkets in the area and there are special parking spaces for their carriages. All very picturesque despite not sharing their lifestyle

We had wanted to visit the Amish community for a long time and thanks to this tour we finally managed to have this experience The tour is very well organized and allows you to see and learn about the life of this community without invading its spaces. I was afraid it was all very constructed or almost like we were in a zoo but instead I really appreciated the delicacy of entering their world Our guide told us how they live, their traditions and their way of combining living according to the precepts they believe in and modernity Also very interesting is the insight into the school, the visit to a reconstruction of a typical house and the stop at a shop run by the Amish community I recommend the experience
