Amish Experience Visit-In-Person Tour

Overview
Many visitors to Lancaster seek out meaningful personal contact with the Amish community. Imagine visiting three Amish properties where our longstanding relationships allow you to become their guests during your stay. This exclusive tour is limited to 14 guests, and provides the rare opportunity to meet and talk to various Amish where they live and work. The three stops: Visit an Amish farm at milking time, go behind-the-scenes with an Amish craftsman, and then sit and chat with an Amish family right in their home.

I sent this e-mail to Amish Experience after our disappointing farmlands tour. I was very disappointed in their response. "I was extremely disappointed with our Amish farmlands tour on Thursday at 12:30. We were told to arrive 15 minutes early. We waited for other tour travelers to exit the Homestead tour until 12:35. At that point it was discovered that the tour was overbooked. We waited and waited. Finally, the bus driver went inside to see if we could proceed. We left 15-20 minutes after the first bus. We stopped at the Bird in Hand bakery and another roadside stand. Nice, but nothing special. The other tour visited the Bird in Hand bakery and actually visited a farm with a true quilt shop and actually visited the barn. Our bus arrived back at the same time as the same bus that had pulled out 15 minutes earlier. I am truly disappointed in our tour." I received this response: "Thank you for providing feedback on your tour experience. I am sorry that it did not live up to its billing. We certainly will take your critique to heart and strive to make sure our tours are not overbooked, depart on time, and include a better variety of stops. Sincerely, Clinton Martin, CTIS Amish Experience at Plain and Fancy Farm"
