Many visitors to Lancaster seek out meaningful personal contact with the Amish community. Imagine visiting three Amish properties where our longstanding relationships allow you to become their guests during your stay. This exclusive tour is limited to 14 guests, and provides the rare opportunity to meet and talk to various Amish where they live and work. The three stops: Visit an Amish farm at milking time, go behind-the-scenes with an Amish craftsman, and then sit and chat with an Amish family right in their home.

I did a lot of research to try to find out the best way to truly gain insight and experience the Amish culture firsthand. My wife and I live close to an Amish area in Indiana and I have great respect for their beliefs. However I’ve never had the opportunity to ask questions of and meet many Amish folks. This tour was a great opportunity to do exactly that. All of the Amish people we met were incredibly friendly and more than willing to answer any questions that anyone in the group had. We really got to see multiple facets of the Amish life from a dairy farm, to a carriage maker, to just sitting down with some young people from a family after dinner and asking them questions about their lives. We especially enjoyed the two sisters singing a song for all of us. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get past the tourist view of this beautiful Amish area.

Amazing experience! Our tour guide, Jim, was very knowledgeable, humorous, kind & thorough! The Amish families we met with were wonderful & allowed for the opportunity to truly get to feel what it is like to live an Amish lifestyle. So many our of questions were answered during this experience… i.e. what weddings, funerals, schooling, day-to-day lifestyle looks like for an Amish individual/family, etc. The Amish families were so welcoming and open to all questions. We learned so much & gained an immense appreciation for this community. 10/10 would recommend!

My mother and I had a pleasure to enjoy a visit-in-person. I must admit that I came with a great idea of expectations and The Amish Experience, led by Mr. Joe, had simply and organically exceed it. I couldn't imagine having such a close contact with the Amish and their ways of living. I'm very grateful of the staff and families to allow us to trouble them with our endless curiosities. I will certainly revisit the Amish Experience. Please do yourself a favor and book your tickets. - DC Mom & Daughter
