Overview

Visit the only place in the world that the Amish and Mennonite communities come to vacation en masse and learn about their culture with your tour guide. On this tour, the goal is to create a “bridge of understanding” about these wonderfully unique and close-knit communities. You will learn about the history of their religious beliefs, values, traditions and practices of daily life. Visit Pinecraft, where 500+ Amish and Mennonite families live year-round and where 5,000+ return each season from Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indiana to vacation. Enjoy stops at Alma Sue’s Quilt Shop, The Carlisle Inn and Der Dutchman for shopping and a delicious pie shooter! Gain a new appreciation of the rich culture on this Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence-rated tour. *During April there may be variations of the tour because typically many of our Amish tourists have returned home, therefore we may visit a local Amish furniture maker to learn about carpentry and its importance to their culture.

Kendra is a great tour guide. My group and I appreciated her knowledge on the Amish. We were disappointed wlthat we did not meet any real Amish people, like a meet and greet, See how the Amish live, work and discuss their culture. Instead the Amish come to Sarasota just for vacationing. We did see an Amish woman riding a bike. Apparently at this time of the year very few Amish people are around.

Our tour guide Kendra and driver Siegfried were wonderful in giving us the history and the heritage of the Amish and Mennonite communities in Sarasota. We have been in Sarasota for more than twenty years and learned more in this one and one-half hours than we had learned in the previous twenty years. If you want to expand your knowledge, this is the tour for you!

Very informative tour of the Amish and Mennonite. Owner and Kendra and tour driver offered a great time plus shopping for different things is a plus. thanks
