We departed Anacortes on a beautiful brand new whale watching boat. Capt. John and Chelsea were terrific hosts. We motored almost an hour past stunning scenery to arrive not far from Victoria, BC (we could actually see where we live there so that was pretty exciting), and we saw two pods of whales. The whales were frolicking in the water and what a sight to see! The boat slowed down on the way back to see various birds as well as harbor seals. An absolutely lovely and very comfortable trip including a washroom (head) on the boat. They even provided drinks and snacks for a nominal fee. Thank you!

We took a 5PM whale watch tour out of Anacortes and were exceptionally pleased with the trip. Our captain Matt took us out to a pod of Orca's and we were able to follow them for over two hours and marvel at these great creatures. It is a very casual and intimate trip, lots of time to ask questions of the very knowledgable staff. Don't expect to be inundated with attempts to purchase "souvenirs" and such as there are just a few snacks available. The souvenir is the memory you will take away from seeing these amazing animals in their natural habitat guiding by people who truly love what they are doing. Highly recommended!

We've done this tour twice now, both times from Anacortes. The guides are knowledgable, and we've seen whales both times. The first tour we saw a grey whale, and it happened to come so close that we could smell its breath, the second time we saw quite a few orcas, none as close as that first trip, but that's totally ok, it is for the whales' safety! That's why we're watching from a boat and not from Sea World.
