Anchorage Aurora Quest - Northern Lights Photo Tour

Overview
This is the longest-running northern lights photo tour in the Anchorage area. Highlighted by Iceland Air's Stopover magazine as one of Anchorage's "Hidden Hot Spots" in its Spring 2019 issue (page 64), this tour is designed to maximize fun and opportunity with the aurora borealis.

We provide a free 3-day forecast service that includes both the aurora borealis and weather forecast. This tour increases your chance of aurora viewing success by allowing you to reserve as many nights as you like [space available] and only finalizing payment 48 hours in advance under the Reserve Now & Pay Later system. We pick you up at your accommodations and take you on a nocturnal adventure to witness the magical lights rippling over snowy peaks and dancing across dark waters. It's a great option for business travelers to Alaska during August to early May. This tour accommodates serious photographers to sightseers. Photographic instruction and aurora portraits are provided for those who desire.

Not a lot of Aurora Quest-Norther lights that night, I guess itā€™s not a good time to watch but anyway at least itā€™s show a little but too short like 1-2 mins only, the tour guide tried on other stop but nothing so all the tourist are decided to go back because weā€™re all sleepy itā€™s already 3:30 am. The tour guide is so nice but weā€™re not lucky to see the good Northern lights maybe weā€™re going to try in Fairbank next time.

Thank you for your feedback. From what I am hearing, we did a good job with the things that we can control - the guide making an effort to ensure you had a chance to see the northern lights and otherwise taking good care of you. As for the northern lights, it is a natural phenomenon that we cannot control. We go out on nights when the available forecast information indicates there is a good chance of seeing the northern lights. On any given night, the northern lights will behave differently. Even Fairbanks cannot guarantee seeing the northern lights. The best thing to do is to give yourself several nights to go chasing the lights.

The tour leader was knowledgeable and friendly, but we werenā€™t able to see the light clearlyā€¦Obviously, nothing looks-like pictures! We went two different points and it was frustrating to not be able to catch the light clearly! I didnā€™t get yet my pictures and I contacted them many times but still no pictures yet.

Hi. We are sorry that you did not see the northern lights as well as you had hoped. It is unfortunately a natural phenomenon, and we cannot control how it appears. It is also important to note that how the aurora looks in photos is different than how it looks with the naked eye, as our eyes cannot see the same colors as the camera. Our guide did email you the photos on three separate occasions, starting with the day after your tour. You have by now received the photos and acknowledged receipt of them.

On a cold late night, venture out with a great tour guide to catch a glimpse of the Aurora. Gorgeous
