The whole tour through Garden of the Gods was awesome! Eric was very helpful from the get go, directing us to the starting point and welcoming us upon arrival. He is very knowledgeable and I could tell he truly enjoys talking rocks! We started with a pleasant little hike where he explained the “how” this truly extraordinary geology came about, and the “what” we where actually looking at (i.e. ocean beds, algae mats, sand dunes, river sediment, etc) . The next part of the tour lead us up a ridge where we explored hidden fossils along the trail’s edge, some dating back 300 million years! For visitor and local residents alike, this tour provides picturesque views, amazing sites and a great introduction into the geology of this truly extraordinary landscape. My 73 year old mother joined the tour as well, and also loved it!

My 6yo son and I had an excellent hike and tour with Eric at Garden of the Gods in July 2022! We did the shorter "Ancient Landscapes" tour, which was the perfect length and level for my son! The scenery is gorgeous and Eric had a really nice loop picked out that avoided the largest crowds and told a nice "story" through time as we walked through different zones of the park and explored their geological features. The way Eric planned the walk and the points to highlight along the way was excellent and very engaging, and he was also very adept at fielding questions (from anyone - me a 6yo!) and tailoring the discussion and topics to our interests. Overall, an excellent trip to learn and explore in one of the gems of the Front Range! The website/payment/booking system is also very nice, super easy to use, and Eric was very responsive and super helpful when we had to shift the date of our trip ~1 week in advance.
