2
Horseshoe Bend
Next, it's off to Horseshoe Bend. Take an approximate 0.75-mile (1.2-km) hike that brings you to one of the best overlooks. At a point not far downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam, the Colorado River meanders around a rock promontory, creating the horseshoe-shaped loop beloved by visitors and photographers from around the world. As you approach the edge, take in the wonderful view. Please note: You'll hike a total of 2 miles (3.2 km); comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

Glen Canyon Dam Overlook
Enjoy amazing views as you enjoy a picnic lunch at Glen Canyon Dam Overlook.

Antelope Canyon
At Antelope Canyon, follow your Navajo guide through a narrow slit in the earth where youā€™ll see the sculpted sandstone cliff. Sunlight from overhead creates shafts of light that pass into the canyon, making it even more beautiful. Descend ladders into the depths of the canyon to discover more of this serene place, and take photos with help from your guide about using the right settings on your camera for the light and the best angles for taking interesting shots. Antelope Canyon is a photographers dream.

This tour was great, well recommended. We saw more than we expected to! Got picked up from our Flagstaff motel too.
Gavin was our tour guide and driver and we learnt loads about the geology and history and plant life of the surrounding area, and also the Navajo reservation and the people who live there : The horseshoe bend was stunning, just be careful being by the edge, and there's lots of people there too! photos are great even if only on a phone. We got to go to the Upper Antelope Canyon, amazing sandstone, light, and contours of the rock. You go there on trucks by a special Navajo guide, it's v dusty! And you can't take your bags, just camera, and water!
However Gavin prepped us all with all the practical bits! We also had lunch for us at Glen Powell and plenty of snacks and drinks were available to us : it was also nice being in a small group too, just 7 of us in the minivan :
Just fab!

This tour was so informative. Our driver and guide picked us up at our hotel and during the approximately 2 hour drive to our destination gave information on the variances in elevation going from alpine forest to high desert, including how mountain ranges were formed all information we may never remember but nonetheless interesting. Along the way he pointed out historical points, such as old Mormon honeymoon cottages, Native hogans and the residence of the last living Navajo Code Talker. The views at Horshoe Bend are spectacular, the Navajo-guided tour at Antelope Canyon quite interesting and an opportunity for unique picture-taking. Lunch was set up on the lawn at the Visitors Center in Page overlooking Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River. This was a five star experience.

Our tour guide JEN from GRAND CANYON ADVENTURES was FANTASTIC! She was attentive to all our needs, very experienced and knowledgeable and an incredible wealth of information. She made sure all of us had a great time - the vehicle and timeline were well suited for our group of 12 - even though they typically do smaller 6 person groups. The Navajo guides at Antelope Canyon were very professional, efficient, well informed and help so very much to ensure we got the optimal photographs of the most scenic spots/angles of the fabulous and beautiful Antelope Canyon. The tour company also ensured we had plenty of drinks, snacks and a custom/gourmet box-lunch at a shady park. Horseshoe Bend was an awesome, one-of-a-kind view as well - just be prepared to hike the up/down hill sand dunes for about 1/2 mile in the heat to the viewing edge. Heat and altitude do play a factor in the hike - and the timeline can be a bit rushed to keep things moving on time. Not for the faint-hearted, but well worth the view. The tour could not have been better - many thanks to our guide JEN and GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE TOURS. Antelope Canyon is an unsurpassed viewing creation - just incredible with awesome colors, lighting, and a natural wonder.
