We were staying in Flagstaff and decided to book this tour through Grand Canyon Adventures so we could sit back and relax while someone else did all the work. I booked online and within 24 hours got a call confirming all the details. Perfect.
There were six people in our tour and our guide was Scott. The tour offices had coffee and muffins available before departing. We left the tour offices promptly at 8am. It took about 2 hours to reach our first stop, which was Horseshoe Bend. Scott gave us good information and advice about the walk to the lookout and provided water and umbrellas.
We then went to the Glen Canyon Recreation area to view Lake Powell and the dam and have lunch there. The lunch provided was good - sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, fruit and drinks. Be prepared - there is no table to sit to eat. We sat in the shade outside on the rock wall and it was comfortable, even with temps in the mid 80's. But it would have been nice to know there would be no real seating for lunch.
We then went on to Lower Antelope Canyon. Scott did a great job of explaining the tour and getting us into the building where the tours of the canyon start. Tyler was our Navajo guide and he took us into the canyon. The tour took about 1 1/2 hours.
We got back to Flagstaff around 5:30. It is a full day tour and worth every penny. Grand Canyon Adventures took care of all the details. Our guides, Scott and Tyler, were excellent. The sites you will see are AMAZING! Horseshoe Bend and the Glen Canyon recreation area are beautiful and Antelope Canyon is a unique experience that will take your breath away.
The sites are so amazing that you will not want to be distracted with driving, buying tickets, lunch etc. Book this tour with Grand Canyon Adventures. They do a GREAT job.
