Arches National Park 4x4 Adventure from Moab

Overview
Hop into a Toyota Land Cruiser with your expert guide and head north from Moab to the backcountry entrance of Arches National Park and avoid the crowds.

Our first stop is to see dinosaur footprints. For millions of years this area was teeming with dinosaurs.

We pass Balanced Rock, one of the most iconic features of the Park, standing a staggering 128 feet. Landscape look familiar? Indiana Jones, and Thelma and Louise have scenes shot here.

The 4X4 trail into the backcounty climbs a short but steep rock wall passing sandstone fins, towering pinnacles and tall spires known as the Marching Men. We stop at Tower Arch for an optional hike.

As you travel along the track, hear informative commentary about the geology, wildlife and history of the park.

We make another stop at Eye of the Whale for an optional hike to a seldom visited slick rock playground named Herdina Park.

After exploring the backcountry we exit past the three gossips and Park Avenue before your guide returns you to Moab.

What To Expect
1
Arches National Park
Visit Arches National Park on a 4-wheel drive (4WD) tour that features spectacular sandstone arches and access to areas that most visitors don't see. An expert guide will maneuver your 4WD past red rock highlights such as Marching Men, Tower Arch and Eye of the Whale. Experience these monuments and more up close and learn about the parkā€™s wildlife and history.
2
Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail
This 5-hour tour even includes a stop to see fossilized dinosaur tracks, left behind millions of years ago when dinosaurs roamed the region.
3
Tower Arch
An optional hike to the awe-inspiring Tower Arch begins at the foot of the bluff, where the 4WD road ends. From here, the route is rocky and steep, though short. Tower Arch itself is very large with a 92-foot span and can be viewed from the trailhead for those opting out.

My son and I booked the tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yancy was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of pacing for how long to linger at a spot and when to push on. He also has a good eye for photo composition. If I do another tour with this agency, I will ask for Yancy by name. This tour included a lot of off road travel and he was careful to let us know when to be mindful of a rough patch. I read reviews by people complaining about the older Toyota Landcruisers. As a jeep fan I must confess these are the better choice of vehicles for the terrain, the passengers and the blazing hot weather.

We took the afternoon trip into Arches which left at about 4:00 and returned at about 9:00. Our guide, Larry, was fantastic. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the park and the surrounding area. The Land Cruiser we were in was comfortable and has the off-road capability to bring us to some remote back areas of the park that we never would have seen, including the Eye of the Whale arch. The 4x4 experience was exciting and my 16 year old son had a great time. Working with Navtec in arranging our plans was super easy and the staff there is very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this tour and Navtec.

A waste of money, first off the guide talked for 4 1/2 hrs straight without taking a breath, then drove in the back way to avoid the $30.00 enter fee, in the park the guide drove to ONE AREA that was off the track, all other areas we could have done on our own with a $30.00 enter fee..some of the sites he took us to we didn't stay very long. the arches that we were really interested in was view to far away for any good photos our even a good viewing...This trip was a waste of money.along with and annoying guide...I recommend this service to NO ONE!
