Arches National Park 4x4 Adventure from Moab

Overview
Hop into a Toyota Land Cruiser with your expert guide and head north from Moab to the backcountry entrance of Arches National Park and avoid the crowds.

Our first stop is to see dinosaur footprints. For millions of years this area was teeming with dinosaurs.

We pass Balanced Rock, one of the most iconic features of the Park, standing a staggering 128 feet. Landscape look familiar? Indiana Jones, and Thelma and Louise have scenes shot here.

The 4X4 trail into the backcounty climbs a short but steep rock wall passing sandstone fins, towering pinnacles and tall spires known as the Marching Men. We stop at Tower Arch for an optional hike.

As you travel along the track, hear informative commentary about the geology, wildlife and history of the park.

We make another stop at Eye of the Whale for an optional hike to a seldom visited slick rock playground named Herdina Park.

After exploring the backcountry we exit past the three gossips and Park Avenue before your guide returns you to Moab.

What To Expect
1
Arches National Park
Visit Arches National Park on a 4-wheel drive (4WD) tour that features spectacular sandstone arches and access to areas that most visitors don't see. An expert guide will maneuver your 4WD past red rock highlights such as Marching Men, Tower Arch and Eye of the Whale. Experience these monuments and more up close and learn about the parkā€™s wildlife and history.
2
Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail
This 5-hour tour even includes a stop to see fossilized dinosaur tracks, left behind millions of years ago when dinosaurs roamed the region.
3
Tower Arch
An optional hike to the awe-inspiring Tower Arch begins at the foot of the bluff, where the 4WD road ends. From here, the route is rocky and steep, though short. Tower Arch itself is very large with a 92-foot span and can be viewed from the trailhead for those opting out.

This experience was even more than anticipated. We were expecting to ride on some dirt roads and be shown some back areas not accessible to general admisssion. Our driver and guide, John, made this trip much, much more. Some exciting 4 wheeling over rough terrain, Johnā€™s local history discussions and geological knowledge made this trip amazing. Thank you Navtec and John!!

You really didn't get to see much on this tour. Also, they only provided water ... not the lemonade and snacks as stated. The guide seemed board and not that informative. It wasn't a total loss because we saw a few additional arches but overall, I would recommend this tour. Spend your time in the actual park.

One of the highlights of our Moab visit. We had Adam and he was absolutely fantastic--genial and engaging in convo w everyone and full of knowledge about what we were looking atā€”including history and geology. The 4x4 had AC--which was very important for my elderly father and Adam had a big container of ice water and even brought some kool aid mix and snacks to share. We had a number of elderly people on this tour who had challenges with walking a lot--and Adam adjusted beautifully--driving carefully and also emphasizing viewpoints that could be taken in with short walks or just from getting out and looking around. I know if we were all super active and fit he would have adjusted perfectly as well and there would be ample opportunities to scramble around and walk lots. Just a fantastic experience and worth every penny. You could drive around by yourself but Adam makes sure you know what you're looking at and the route is excellent and prepares you to appreciate Arches and the area even more. I am hoping to do another NavTec expedition to visit the Maze in Canyonlands. They are an excellent company and I'd feel great with their guides.
