Arches National Park 4x4 Adventure from Moab

Overview
Hop into a Toyota Land Cruiser with your expert guide and head north from Moab to the backcountry entrance of Arches National Park and avoid the crowds.

Our first stop is to see dinosaur footprints. For millions of years this area was teeming with dinosaurs.

We pass Balanced Rock, one of the most iconic features of the Park, standing a staggering 128 feet. Landscape look familiar? Indiana Jones, and Thelma and Louise have scenes shot here.

The 4X4 trail into the backcounty climbs a short but steep rock wall passing sandstone fins, towering pinnacles and tall spires known as the Marching Men. We stop at Tower Arch for an optional hike.

As you travel along the track, hear informative commentary about the geology, wildlife and history of the park.

We make another stop at Eye of the Whale for an optional hike to a seldom visited slick rock playground named Herdina Park.

After exploring the backcountry we exit past the three gossips and Park Avenue before your guide returns you to Moab.

Experience these monuments and more up close and learn about the parkā€™s wildlife and history.
2
Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail
This 5-hour tour even includes a stop to see fossilized dinosaur tracks, left behind millions of years ago when dinosaurs roamed the region.
3
Tower Arch
An optional hike to the awe-inspiring Tower Arch begins at the foot of the bluff, where the 4WD road ends. From here, the route is rocky and steep, though short. Tower Arch itself is very large with a 92-foot span and can be viewed from the trailhead for those opting out.

We had already seen the sights at Arches the day before, so we asked Levi, our guide, to take us off roading for all of our time. It was a fantastic ride that satisfied the adventure craving for all of us, even the hard to please, hyper critical fourteen year old. We saw hidden arches, lizards, medicinal plants and climbed lots of rocks with the vehicle. Levi was greatā€”always positive, a safe driver and really into off roading with teens

Our guide Ron was fantastic. He took us to multiple amazing arch sites in the backlands of Arches National Park that are unreachable without a high clearance 4x4 vehicle. He allowed us to hike to this arches and experience their beauty up close in ways that few people will ever see!

Let me start by saying that I didn't really know what to expect. My daughter (almost 10) and I had one day in Moab and I wanted to make the most of it. I booked a half day tour thinking that a guide would help us get the most out of our limited time. WOW! While I was right, it was our guide that really made that decision matter. Our guide was MARK TRUNZO (request him, you won't regret it). He clearly loves this area and shares with enthusiasm and vast knowledge of the area, geography, history, and the coolest views... he does a variety of tours, so even if you are looking at a different tour, see if he will take your group, totally worth it. The outfitter was great, too. We didn't have enough people for our tour. This happens and I totally understand why they need a minimum number of participants. But instead of canceling my reservation, they just asked me if I wanted to buy the extra seat so we could have a private tour. I was grateful that they let me decide that and so glad that I did it! All in all, this was a fantastic addition to our trip. Mark was a great guide, and he was hilarious with my (too old for her age) daughter. We just had a blast! Also, his snack game was uh-maz-ing, like choices!
