NOTE - each tour is unique with our ever changing daylight. Depending on when you are traveling it is important your day may be more "night" then day light".

NOTE - this is not an Aurora tour. While yes it will be dark on the return to Fairbanks, the tour does not stay out later, longer waiting for the aurora . Guests should consider taking an Aurora Adventure if they are wanting to look for the Aurora. We also offer an Arctic Circle Aurora Drive Adventure.

Longest time between stops is 2 hours; however, some stops will be closer. Most stops have an outhouse.

Arctic Circle Trading Post

Just one of the stops made along the way to see up close and learn about the natural and cultural history of Alaska's Arctic -- here learn of the early homesteading in Alaska and how early pioneers forged a home out in the middle of the wilderness.

Yukon River Bridge

The tour will stop at the Yukon River Camp both on the way north and way south. Guests can either have brought their own food to eat or purchase lunch/dinner here. Plus, guests get a chance to get out and explore the banks of the mighty Yukon River.

BLM Arctic Circle Monument Sign

Celebrate reaching the Arctic Circle at Milepost 115 of the Dalton Highway -- 200 miles north of Fairbanks! All guests will earn an official Arctic Circle Certificate.

Sean was our guide (Nov 31) and he was amazing! Not only he took care of our whole trip but also shared many stories of the locals. The trip is full of interesting information, the documentary of the history behind was also great, and we got to see the northern lights on the way back! And you can tell Sean enjoyed the trip himself and very enthusiastic about it as well, which is really important that you have a passionate guide. This would be a once in a lifetime experience and I would definitely recommend to come again with Northern Alaska tour company. (We stayed at Pike’s landing hotel and they offer free shuttle to the company office so really convenient if you are not renting a car)

We had an amazing Arctic Circle tour with Shawn during Thanksgiving, and it was an unforgettable experience! The bus was extremely comfortable, and all the seats offered great views, even the ones at the back. One of the best things was that they rotated seats throughout the trip, ensuring everyone got a chance to enjoy the scenery. Shawn, our tour guide, was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, funny, and kept us entertained with his stories throughout the journey. He’s also a very safe driver, and we felt completely at ease the entire time. We drove down the dalton highway, stopped to get some pictures of sunrise, saw trans alaskan pipeline, had lunch and dinner at yukon river camp, and clicked some pics at the arctic circle sign. A special highlight was when Shawn spotted a glimpse of the aurora on our way back, even though this wasn’t an aurora-viewing tour. He stopped the bus so we could take pictures, which was such a thoughtful gesture. We later upgraded to the aurora experience since there were a few open spots, and we’re so glad we did. The view of the northern lights from the lodge was absolutely surreal—hands down the best experience of my life! If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate. It’s a full-day adventure, but so worth it, especially with a guide like Shawn who goes above and beyond to make the trip special. Highly recommend!

This tour was by far the best I’ve been on. Will, the tour guide, was excellent. He was extremely knowledgable, had a great personality, and was very professional. Not enough space to describe how great this tour and guide was. Very much recommend anything the North Alaskan Tour Company provides.
