Situated in Historic Idaho Springs in the heart of Colorado Gold Country sits the Mighty Argo Mill and Tunnel, one of the most striking and prominent Heritage Landmarks in the American West. The Argo is a central character in the story of the Colorado gold rush and remains one of the largest, most well-preserved historic gold mills in the world.

Will was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was a great tour! We got to go into the tunnel and experience the mill as well as mine for gold!

Great tour with a very knowledgable tour guide. We enjoyed our visit. It was fun for the kids as well. We spend 1.5 hours which was plenty.

Disclaimer. We went on this tour hoping for a mine tour. There is no actual mine anymore. Its only a mining mill tour. The "mine" is flooded and they only have a 30 ft tunnel so you can see the door holding back the water. The mill tour however is very good. Lots of great artifacts all in original condition. You can see how it really operated and get a feel for the times. Our tour guide did a great job explaining the history of everything and pointing out neat details. Note, this is NOT a family friendly tour. They have a strict no stroller policy (once you're inside the mill its not hard to understand why) but if you have children under 5, I would not recommend bringing them.
