Steve really brought the area and atmosphere to life! being a local inhabitant, he had intimate knowledge of what was going on, and put much of what he informed us into a fascinating political and social context. His knowledge of the history and the social changes was prodigious, and I believe he gave us great insight into the past and present realities of Greenwich Village. It was so interesting, I woke up thinking about it next morning. We're not usually great tour takers, preferring instead to explore areas for ourselves, but we booked this in the appreciation of the difficulties of finding information of this district, and how right we were! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, and feel that, without such good guidance, you're going to struggle to get this level of insight.

Steve was an excellent guide. Having lived in the village for 40+ years he really made the history come to life . We also appreciated his suggestions for places to eat and tailoring the tour to our interests. Definitely recommend!!!
