Additional Info
  • Specialized infant seats are available
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • The electric bikes will take all of the hard work out of your ride. We routinely have riders that span the spectrum of age and fitness. The main requirement is that you be coordinated and fit enough to balance a 55-pound bike. A training and practice session is provided at the start of each tour. For people that would like to go on the tour but are not able to balance a bike, it is possible to arrange a ride on the back of one of our stretch cargo bikes that will be driven by another person in your party.
  • Legally, you must be 16 years or older to operate an electric bike. Guides reserve the right to request proof of age of any rider. Riders should also be at least 5 feet tall to operate their own bike. Guests younger than 16 may ride as a passenger with an adult in their group on the back of one of our cargo bikes or in a child seat (for children ages 1-6 or up to 48.5 pounds).
  • Tours are subject to favorable weather conditions. If there is light rain in the forecast but none at the start of the tour, we will decide together at the time of the tour whether to ride. We will provide rain ponchos and rain covers for the storage bags on the bikes to protect your belongings. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
  • Social distancing enforced throughout experience
  • Gear/equipment sanitised between use
  • Guides required to regularly wash hands
  • Contactless payments for gratuities and add-ons

I had booked a custom tour due to the age and physical stamina of some of the members in our group. The instruction and enthusiasm was delivered and received well. The trip started off great, but then we hit one hill too many. Torin was kind and patient. He eventually adjusted the trip to suit the custom tour request (downtown area). If you would prefer not to hit the hard hills or mountains, it is best to explicitly provide that detail. Although the bikes are electric which provides pedal assist or full throttle, if you are a large person, be prepared to manually pedal when you hit the hills. Once we reached more level ground, the trip turned awesome. Torin is very knowledgeable and very personable. We thoroughly enjoyed our little adventure and would highly recommend it.

Took electric bike tour with wife. We had not rode bikes in 30 years. If you have ever rode a bike you can do this. We traveled 9 miles in 3.5 miles effortlessly. Our tour tour guide Brian was fabulous. He was patient, compassionate and attentive. Told us how to ride the bikes and know everything about Asheville. This was a fantastic tour.

My husband and I visited Asheville for one day only and were looking for an outdoor activity that would provide us with an overview of the city highlights. I came across The Flying Bike tour quite by accident, and after reading the amazing reviews, decided that this was worth taking a chance on. Neither of us had ever ridden electric bikes, and didn't know what to expect. Our tour guide was the company owner, Torin. He was exceptionally professional, friendly, knowledgable, and made all 7 people on the tour feel quite at ease by explaining the use of the bikes within minutes. The tour itself covered about 9 miles, and the frequent stops along the way gave us a fantastic overview of the city and its surroundings. The bikes were so easy to use and were in exceptionally good condition. We both HIGHLY recommend this company and the tour. Thank you Torin for a fabulous and fun afternoon! Hope your business continues to grow and succeed!
