This is where troops rallied before the "Battle of Asheville" in the Civil War. Southern ghosts still violently shove some people to the ground, and spectral drums are heard beating in the night.

We enjoyed our tour guide — the anthropologist! He’s a great story teller and managed to project his voice beautifully to a crowd of people on a windy night in the open air. The stories were very interesting, and we felt we got a great introduction to Asheville’s colorful history at the same time. We’ll probably go again while we’re here for the next couple of months.

We had an awesome time walking around Asheville with our guide Christian. Due to a small group size, we voted for the more "in-depth" version of Asheville's haunts and wow-- what an experience! The combination of ghost stories and first-hand experiences of past guides and guests was a real plus for our group. Very informative and fun. Would recommend to anyone interested in the city's storied past...
