What To Expect
1
Pack Square
An Asheville mayor killed himself in the Jackson building. How may people have jumped from the top? And why is there a bulls-eye on the sidewalk below? Learn about the ghoul of the old jail, Thomas Wolfe's ghost, Helen's Bridge, and more!
2
Grove Arcade
Hear the controversial story of the murder of Helen Clevenger in the Battery Park Hotel, and why a blood-red haze is said to appear around her murder-room window on the anniversary of the tragedy.
3
Basilica of Saint Lawrence
This building's architect is entombed in the wall of this church, and his apparition is seen roaming in the night, gazing, in awe, at the world-class dome he constructed with a secret method.
4
Thomas Wolfe Memorial
The spirits of the great author (Look Homeward, Angel), and his brother, roam the halls of this storied mansion. Thomas Wolfe even wrote about spirits before he died at age 37. Wait till you hear the full story!
5
Pritchard Park
This is where troops rallied before the "Battle of Asheville" in the Civil War. Southern ghosts still violently shove some people to the ground, and spectral drums are heard beating in the night.

We love ghost tours and try to do one on all of our vacations. This one was super! I wish we had done it on the first night of our trip instead of the last, because we saw a lot of things in Asheville that I would have loved to go back and visit during the day. Brian, our tour guide, was funny and friendly. He did a great job of sharing the history of the city, along with lots of spooky stories. This is definitely a family-friendly tour. I also appreciated that there were places to sit on most of our stops. As far as the size, this was the biggest group I've ever been in for a ghost tour. We were worried at first, but Brian had two speakers and we never had a hard time hearing him. He did a great job of keeping the tour moving. We were very pleased with our experience.

More of a history tour that highlights the gory details. Very informative and entertaining. Awesome. Recommend doing this early in your trip to get the layout of downtown Asheville

I have been on dozens of ghost tours. This ranked in the worst I have been on due to the massive group size. The guide stated that 80 participants had signed up for this tour and he was the only guide for this group. The ratio was incredibly greedy. During this two hour tour, the majority of the time was spent herding the massive group to various locations and confronting various people that stopped on the street to listen in. The information presented was interesting, but could have easily been done in half the time, and been much more engaging, if the group had been kept to an appropriate size.

I'd love to be the only person on the airplane, too! If you'd like your own private tour, for a premium fee, please contact us. Otherwise, there will indeed be lots of other prople on the tour sometimes. It's all outside and on-foot with plenty of space for everyone. Please don't be greedy.
