This was the first time I visited Houston, so I signed up for this Food Tour to fully experience all that the city had to offer. As a big foodie, I wanted to try different foods in Houston. Not only were Vanessa and Luis excellent communicators and personable, but it was apparent from the start of how passionate they were about their city. Throughout the tour, I loved each restaurant. All the stops had a unique atmosphere to them and you could tell that Vanessa/Luis had good relationships with the staff at each restaurant. The guides also did a great job of diversifying the food options. As a Californian, I always thought that we had the most authentic tacos in the country, but the tacos that we had at the first stop were the best I ever had. My favorite stop was probably the Japanese gelato dessert which again caught my eye and enhanced my perspective on Japanese food (also amazing for taking photos). I enjoyed every minute of this tour, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to fully experience Houstonā€™s cuisine and learn about the cityā€™s downtown life as well as the tunnel system.

From start to finish, this was hands down an amazing and professional program. Luis and Vanessa are incredible resources for authentic Houston. We were in town for two nights only and are always looking for 'real' food. The size of the city was daunting and finding a restaurant near our hotel would be like shooting a dart. We saw the Food Tour offered on Trip Advisor and decided to take the leap of faith. Participants receive a text ahead of time telling them where to meet- our location was a lovely public park. We connected, shared introductions and toured the park with our guides. Each stop was well organized and details of the food served and venue were shared. Besides the restaurants, our guides shared information about historical landmarks passed and interesting tidbits of the area. We were given rare glimpses into Houston that would otherwise have gone unnoticed by these travelers. At the end of the tour, we were back at our public park, each participant was given ideas for their next days in town and handed a business card containing other recommendations for further exploration. The following day, we received another text with MORE suggestions for our time in Houston. We've been on two other food tours in other cities and this was by far the best of the three. If you are unsure of what to do or where to dine in Houston, book this tour, find a nearby hotel in which to stay and get out there and enjoy your evening! You won't regret it.
