I took this tour on a whim and thought it was a great way to get introduced to Houston downtown apart from getting to know the tunnels. It’s probably not something most tourists would put on their sightseeing list but I would recommend it if you want to get know Houston better and pick up nuggets of history for different buildings and their architecture. They also have food tours so you could try one of those tours as well !

I only had one day off during my stay in Houston because of a real estate conference, but this tour made up for all the days where I was at the Convention Center. From the history of the tunnels to the impressive skyscrapers that we visited and learned about, this tour combines the best of Houston including history, architecture, and culture. I was lucky to have Vanessa as my tour guide. She was very insightful and engaging when it came to the tunnels, the growth of the city, and what makes Houston unique. She was also willing to take photos of me and the tour group in front of City Hall and the beautiful skyline. I was amazed to see an entire city below ground and it made sense given that there were hardly any people on the streets. I would have never known there are so many cool amenities and cultural sights to see in Downtown Houston, specifically in the tunnel system without this tour. If you are looking for something fun to do in the morning (10 am tour) then this tour is for you. I look forward to doing the Food Tour if I ever come back to Houston for business or on leisure travel!
