Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel is the meet-up location for all travelers. Good location that's using using Marta train riders, Uber/Lyft drop offs. The hotel has comfortable lobby seating, clean bathrooms, and Starbucks (opened 6am-1pm only) Parking is available, but isn't free! The parking garages and lots are located about one block from the hotel. Parking rates range $10-$30. Please arrive 15-20 min before tour departure.
Tour operates in all weather. Umbrella or rain poncho is recommended for for light rain. For extreme weather conditions, please call the phone number on your voucher to reconfirm tour operation.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 14 travelers
The morning tour starts from 9:30am-1:30pm and the afternoon tour 2:00pm-6:00pm

Jeff is an original Atlanta man who had so many stories and explanations of the black history of the area. Funny, knowledgeable, caring about his group. We will be back with the rest of the family!

Absolutely amazing experience… Jeff was excellent, personable and knowledgeable. He made my birthday experience so special. I gain so much knowledge the tour was fun! Highly recommend well worth it with best tour Ambassador Jeff!!!

It was quite informative and very interesting. I enjoyed learning about the city of Atlanta’s black history and civil rights history. The vehicle we drove in was comfortable. Our ambassador was pretty cool. The day I went was the 2 PM time slot on Saturday, October 29. We stopped along the way for bathroom breaks/food and for some more sightseeing in person. It was really nice. I would recommend it for sure. Thanks so much PS I realize I look less than thrilled in my Tyler Perry photo. I was exhausted as it was a long day. But it was a really cool spot to visit and to learn all about the good that Tyler Perry has done for the community.
