Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel is the meet-up location for all travelers. Good location that's using using Marta train riders, Uber/Lyft drop offs. The hotel has comfortable lobby seating, clean bathrooms, and Starbucks (opened 6am-1pm only) Parking is available, but isn't free! The parking garages and lots are located about one block from the hotel. Parking rates range $10-$30. Please arrive 15-20 min before tour departure.
Tour operates in all weather. Umbrella or rain poncho is recommended for for light rain. For extreme weather conditions, please call the phone number on your voucher to reconfirm tour operation.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 14 travelers
The morning tour starts from 9:30am-1:30pm and the afternoon tour 2:00pm-6:00pm

This was an awesome experience! I loved the history and how the driver Jeff engaged with everyone! I would recommend this to anyone that wants to get educated on ATL's important black history!

This tour of Atlanta was great. My mom (77) hasn't been back here on 30 years. She had a front row seat to the history. We came down for my graduation and I wanted to schedule something educational for my children. My oldest was not interested but found himself having a great time because of our new resident Atlanta family. Jeff was the guy for our tour and we will definitely recommend it to others coming to the area. If you want to see all of the black history of Atlanta and its future......book this tour!!!!

EXCEPTIONAL tour. Jeff the tour ambassador was very knowledgeable, relatable, funny and pleasant. The van was clean and spacious. My husband and I learned so much about civil rights leaders, various neighborhoods, HBCUs, and sooooo much more. It was great learning about the history and seeing it all present day. It was also great to see the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr, the family home of the King family, Tyler Perry studio entrance, the home used in the Madea films by Tyler Perry, the Martin Luther King Freedom Center and again so much more. This tour is great for tourist and even people who live in the area but may not be from the area. Also, Jeff provided water and snacks which was a pleasant surprise.
