Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel is the meet-up location for all travelers. Good location that's using using Marta train riders, Uber/Lyft drop offs. The hotel has comfortable lobby seating, clean bathrooms, and Starbucks (opened 6am-1pm only) Parking is available, but isn't free! The parking garages and lots are located about one block from the hotel. Parking rates range $10-$30. Please arrive 15-20 min before tour departure.
Tour operates in all weather. Umbrella or rain poncho is recommended for for light rain. For extreme weather conditions, please call the phone number on your voucher to reconfirm tour operation.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 14 travelers
The morning tour starts from 9:30am-1:30pm and the afternoon tour 2:00pm-6:00pm

We had a wonderful time with Jeff, our tour ambassador!!!!!! He was very knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. We will go again , but only with JEFF!!!!!!!! it was the Black History and Civil Rights tour.

This tour was recommended to me from a family friend and I am so glad that I booked it, as my family and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Jeff our tour ambassador was very knowledgeable of the Black and civil rights history that took place in Atlanta, as well as information on recent and currents events impacting Atlanta and the state of Georgia today. As Jeff took us into the various neighborhoods that we would otherwise not visit on our own, he was very "down to earth" in the information that he shared. My family and I were part of a very nice group which including Jeff came to a total of 10, a nice size. The vehicle was a good size and very comfortable and the snack and water that Jeff offered us was unexpected and appreciated. There were also a couple of bathroom stops which was greatly welcomed. While the entire tour was enjoyable our favorite part was being able to step out of the vehicle to take a closer look at different places visited such as the Dr. Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King Memorial. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in learning about Black history and the impact of civil rights on Atlanta and the state of Georgia. Thank you Jeff!

The trip was simultaneously an affordable and authentic take on the history and city that is Atlanta. The guide does an amazing job of telling the stories of the historical people and places that make Atlanta great! The guide was also very humorous and provides great details that stoke the interests of attendees. We visit all important communities that make up Atlanta and its connection to the Black experience. If you are looking for a good tour of the city, def consider taking this tour.
