What To Expect

Texas Capitol

Your tour begins with a visit to the Texas Capitol - the seat of government for the state of Texas. This iconic Italian Renaissance Revival style building was constructed between 1882 and 1888 and is the sixth-tallest state capitol. Our guide will take you on a guided tour around the grounds, where you can admire the Heroes of Alamo, the Confederate Soldiers Monument, and the Volunteer Firemen Monument, among other notable monuments and statues.

Greetings from Austin Mural

Next, we'll take you to see some of the famous murals in Austin, including the "I love you so much" mural and the "Greetings from Austin" mural. These vibrant and colorful murals are an Instagrammer's paradise and have become iconic symbols of the city.

Barton Springs Pool

Afterwards, we'll head to Barton Springs, a natural spring-fed pool in the heart of the city, where you can take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy a relaxing walk around the area. We'll then make a surprise food stop, where you can indulge in some delicious local cuisine and treats.

Owen was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. His knowledge was not limited to just Texas, you can tell the guy is a worldly traveller and could speak to so many topics and elements of history. I was surprised to be the only one on the tour, so appreciate that it ran just for me. I had a really enjoyable tour with Owen as we went beyond downtown to see a bit more of the greater Austin area.

Owen was the best tour guide ever. Knowledgeable, courteous, and upbeat. After I made and paid for today’s tour (last night), I received two conflicting emails regarding the tour pickup location I then called and Isaiah was unhelpful and rude. I calked this morning, but I again received conflicting pickup information. I ended up going to both venues, wherein I encountered Owen at the second venue. He said he would have gone to both venues to pick me up. You should be proud of Owen’s great work.

I had the great pleasure of going on a tour with Owen around Austin today. I was the only one so it felt like a private tour. He took me around many great places such as the Capital Building, Mount Bonnel and many things in between. He provided great history and knowledge about Austin and Texas. I have used Tripshepard many times and they have provided a good experiences many times. I would recommened this to anyone who would like an express tour around Austin.
