What To Expect

Throughout the course of the Live Music Crawl, you’ll hear about Austin's live music history, get the latest scoop on the current music scene and see iconic venues and new clubs, all while getting an overview of the city. Our live music tours are led by local comedians, artists, performers, and music enthusiasts. You'll ride in style a Mercedes Sprinter van. Get out of downtown and see the real Austin. The duration of this tour is roughly three hours. During that time frame, you'll visit 3 (three) different venues and be back around 11pm. This tour simply rocks! If you enjoy fun people, live music, and learning about the city of Austin, this is the tour for you. Please check in with the Austin Detours tour guide in front of the concierge desk of the Hilton Austin Hotel, located at 500 E. 4th St.

This was that thing your mom says not to do: wait until the last minute. The tours were nearly sold out. The reviews were great. I groveled for two spots on a Friday night. Jackpot! This is a family-run business whose owner cares about people, to the degree she calls you back herself! We got graciously added on and enjoyed our guide Steven and ALL of the venues. Eclectic music and great joints. Bring cash for drinks and souvenirs. Relax and enjoy the live music scene with a funny, informative local. We felt cool for the first time in our lives!

Steven was our guide and he did a great job! We went to 3 different venues and heard 3 different types of music. Each time he got us in the door, had tables waiting for us and he was full of great information. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will plan on doing the Live Music Crawl again the next time we're in Austin!

We were toured round 3 venues by Ike. He answered any question thrown his way. We'd been into some of the venues near 6th street before and knew of a few others but this tour took us way out to some really interesting venues we would likely have never found ourselves and we heard some fantastic music. Every venue seemed happy to have us there and we had a great few hours exploring a blues bar, honky tonk (only place we've ever seen whisky on draft) and then a relaxed pub with a local singer songwriter. We'd recommend this for locals or tourists wanting to see a few venues they may not have come across. And try and get Ike to take your tour!
