We enjoyed the self tour as it allowed us to go at our own pace and take breaks and eat when ever we wanted. It had a good mix of reading and watching videos to give you a good history of Tabasco as well as their future. The gardens was a great ride through a very historic garden with lots of beauty.

My husband and I headed to Avery Island to do the Tabasco tour and mooch round the jungle gardens. There is information boards throughout the tour that tell you about the history of Tabasco and process of making it. The gift shop is also great. We then headed over to jungle gardens and we decided to drive round cus of the heat. We saw quite a few different birds and a gator. We did the audio tour here which was interesting. All in all we spent about 4 hours on site.

Really loved the self guided tour. I had not been here in over 50 years, and boy has it really changed. They have a very good gift shop. The restaurant was surprisingly good - I recommend the sampler and the Boudin egg roll - which is enough for 2 people. The chili was also very good. Enjoyed the drive through the gardens. We drove in from New Orleans (about 2 hours), which is worth the drive through Cajun Country.
