From the moment we arrived at Pier 61, 5 minutes after the requested arrival time, ( please note, not sailing time ) the evening had an unpleasant feel. We were aggressively asked to order a return taxi by a "heavy" who greeted us. We were concerned that we were 5 mins late, and said so. My husband was told to " calm down"
I booked the first class package. We were not given a window seat and told that this was an extra cost.
We refused the table offered, that gave an uninterrupted view of the kitchen and was close to the door that led out on deck and not next to a window. The maître D eventually gave us a window seat that had belonged to a " no show" complete with their roses and a bottle of champagne once we had set sail. The food was uninspired, mass produced and cold. Our waiter insisted we order our desert when we chose our first course. The waiter was patronising and over familiar.
The Maître D, did the minimum given the circumstances.
This was probably our most disappointing night in New York.
I can not recommend this trip, it was badly executed by jaded staff and very over priced.
Loved it a great way to see New York by river and at night. You get really close to the Statue of Liberty. Great food and entertainment.
A fantastic evening, great food and attentive service all topped off with stunning views!
