Battleship USS Iowa Museum

Battleship IOWA has been at the front line of protecting America’s Freedom and Security since 1943. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we are providing visitors an opportunity to experience special limited capacity outdoor fresh-air tours that comply with public health guidelines. Our Self-Guided Outdoor Tour Experience includes free use of our award-winning mobile app for a truly memorable experience aboard IOWA. Walk in the footsteps of sailors and hear there stories from three eras of service including WWII, Korean War, and the Cold War.

Saw the last of the Iowa Class Battleships. Saw previous New Jersey (Camden, NJ-across from Philadelphia), Wisconsin (Norfolk VA) and Missouri (Pearl Harbour HI) in previous years. This one was the best (except for the below deck gun tour on the New Jersey). In San Pedro (Port of LA near Long Beach) it was a little difficult to get to but found it using electronic means. Has guided tours but able to easily walk through the ship. Lots of climbing up and down ladders and stairs.

Wow!!!! My first time ever on a military ship. So much history and incredibly impressive war equipment. Totally worth every penny!!!
