We booked thru trip advisor - the confirmation said 10:00 arrival. 10. It said NOTHING about needing to be there earlier. We arrived at 9:45 greeted the group, the woman in charge Nikki, said “are you the last two we are waiting for?” Very rudely. She told us we were supposed to be there earlier to which we replied that the conformation didn’t state that. We never got safety instructions, not that we required them because we have experience but still as a company they were incredibly unprofessional. In fact two people a bit older from our group did capsize, lost their boat and were stranded. Clearly the safety instruction given are important. We thought we were early and there was no care or giving a CUSTOMER the benefit of the doubt. She was an absolute witch. We highly recommend French Broad Adventures in Marshall where we had a stellar white water rafting trip today, as well as NOC and Navitat. Stay far far away from Asheville adventures.
Also they advertise that you see Biltmore Estate, you see only the roof top and only if you happen to be facing that direction. There was a lot of road noise and it was not particularly scenic though still nice to be on the French Broad River. Please note they only supply 1 size kayak 11.5 foot kayak with basic seat support, not at all comfortable especially for my husband who is 6’2”. They are quite narrow. Paddles are lousy too. Flat no contour.

Hi!
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are sorry that your trip did not live up to your expectations. We do not believe that this trip is representative of our company or our experiences as is evident from our other reviews. We always take safety and communication with our guests as an utmost priority. If anything happened to the contrary in was surely an incredibly unique mistake which should and will never take place again. We try and only hire the best staff who take customer service seriously. We will make sure that this issue is resolved with any staff member who was present. We hope you come back and give us another try to see what Asheville Adventure Company is really about!
