What To Expect

Cave of the Winds

First, you will be given the opportunity to get as close as possible to Niagara Falls by taking part in the Cave of the Winds tour. An elevator will be waiting to take you into the Niagara Gorge where you will be sent on your way to explore wooden walkways with a tour guide. The walkways will get you as close to the falls as possible.

Maid Of The Mist

You will then hop aboard the Maid of the Mist where you will take in the views of the Majestic Falls from the water.

Niagara Falls Observation Tower

From there, you will head up to the American Observation Tower extending out over Niagara Gorge.

Goat Island

Then it's off to Goat Island where you'll be able to see all three Falls from different points. Don’t forget your camera because there are some wonderful views you will want to make sure you preserve on film.

What could have been a great tour turned into a bad experience, where we weren't able to participate in all the activities we paid for. As we had limited time available in the area, i was reassured on two occasions that the tour lasted only 4 hours so we purchased the tickets. Because of the way the company operates though, the tour guide left to pick up another group, while we were in the cave experience, and then got stuck in traffic leaving us and another couple waiting in the heat without knowing what was going on. We eventually got through to the office who assured us that the guide would be there in 5-10 minutes. 40 minutes later she finally made it. By this point it was too late to do the main part of the tour - the Maid of the Mist boat ride. Despite being told by the call centre staff that a manager would call me back twice, the company has decided to bury their heads and ignore me. Two emails have also gone unanswered. I would recommend looking elsewhere where you'll hopefully find a better run operation.

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT, NEVER GOT TO TAKE OUR TOUR. Our tour was booked for 3pm and we were told that they would pick us up from out hotel between 2:30 and 2:45. We sat outside our hotel at 2:15 waiting so we wouldn’t miss them in case they were early. At 2:45 we called to see where they were and they said our guide was just running late because the other people they were picking up before us were late but they were on the way and would be there by 3pm. At 3pm we called back and were told (after 15 minutes on hold) that the bus had an issue but they dispatched another bus for the driver and passengers on the bus so they’d be to us soon. At this point we offered to drive to their office instead of the hotel pick up since they were having issues with the bus and we were only a 10 minute drive from the office and we desperately wanted to take this tour and it was our last day in town and we hadn’t got to see Niagara Falls yet, but they told us not to and that the van was on its way. At 3:30 we called back and were told they were 10 minutes away. After that we couldn’t get anyone to answer our calls but we finally got ahold of an agent named Megan who was honestly the only helpful person we spoke to. She was the only one who seemed to care we were never picked up. She tried called all of the operating managers but could not get anyone to answer or care to take us on the tour. Finally at 4:15 and about 30 minutes on the phone with her while she was trying to contact the operating managers she told us to not expect being able to take the tour. It was super frustrating because we spent almost $1000 for all of us to take the tour and we were constantly getting the run around from everyone except Megan. We ended up just going to the state park and doing most of the tour activities ourselves since it was our last night in town, and it was much cheaper

Skipping the ticket lines was fantastic. (I overheard one staff member at the Maid of the Mist/Observation Deck say that their ticket line alone was four hours long!) But, calling this a “tour” is not accurate. It was more like having a driver who was able to drive you to the destinations, grab your tickets and reservations for you, and get you past the lines. Our “guide” was rarely with us otherwise.
