  • To receive your Alcatraz Island Ticket you must check into the Big Bus Visitor Center one day prior to the Alcatraz Tour date, or before 9am on the date of your Alcatraz Tour.
  • Please advise at time of booking if wheelchair assistance is required
  • Photo ID is required.
  • Please note that the date you have selected is the date for your Alcatraz Tour.
  • Your tour time will be assigned 5 days in advance of the tour date. Once a time is assigned we are not able to make any changes, please note your timed entry will be allocated by Alcatraz this will not be able to be personally selected
  • Hop-on Hop-off tour ticket is valid during operating hours for 48 hours after first use.

Too little narration, too much elevator music. Narration wasn’t synced with tour. The Dragons gate stop was not a stop.

Thank you for your review and feed back of Big Bus San Francisco. I am sorry to hear you were not able to enjoy the tour. As of October 1st we have changed the bus route and Dragons Gate is no longer a stop. If you would like to see Chinatown we recommend getting off at Stop 2. Generally every other departing bus will contain a live guide. The free Big Bus app, is available to download and it will indicate which buses contain live guides versus pre-recorded commentary. Alcatraz was great. Didn’t get to do the bus tour because our trip for Alcatraz was at 12:30 and didn’t find out til we got there that day. So paying $140 for Alcatraz was ridiculous.

The whole bus tour was amazing - they narrated everything very well and detailed. Seats are small but not a reason not to make a bus tour. Very recommended
