We will not be using the DC Big Bus hop on/hop off again. Just finished 2 days of their service mid March 2025. Day one the other option (Old Town trolley) had double the buses on the road. Literally, waited at the stop by Air and Space 45 minutes and saw the other guys pick up passengers twice while we waited. However, that only happened once and the rest of the day, service was adequate ( on a weekday ). Saturday, There was a 5k and half marathon that closed downtown DC roads till noon. No mention of this on the Big Bus website where we bought our ticket. Nobody reached out to customers. So, we (and dozens of others) had no transportation and no back up plan at 9:00a.m. We were stranded. We (and the dozens of people we spoke to standing outside the locked Big Bus at union station) attempted to contact company for over an hour and you just can’t. No phone number calls a local manager or anything. The number on their website takes you to a call center, that refuses to answer any questions without your reservation number that starts with R-V , However, your ticket does not have a number that starts with R/V. We tried the online chat feature and again the response was not local. They said “how do you know the roads closed, we have no note about that”. Well we were standing on a closed bridge watching hundreds of people run down the road. The police closing the road told us there was no tour buses running till noon. (I tried the old Town Trolley site and it made you acknowledge the late start before selling the ticket.) Then, once Big buses started running, they were so overloaded that people were told to stand in aisles and stairwell. Just too many tickets sold and not enough buses or staff to assist. Avoid this company. Go with the other guys

I was unable to download the ticket for this tour. Two other Viator tours downloaded fine, this did not. The drivers were kind enough to let us on.
