Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube

Hilo

This 80-foot falls plunges over a natural lava cave and into the Wailuku River below. On a sunny day, rainbows appear in the mist of the falls, making for a magical view.

Akaka Falls State Park

This towering 442-foot (135-meter) waterfall plummets into a lush ravine at the center of a state park. You’ll enjoy a short walk through the vegetation for an up close view and plenty of photo ops.

Waipi'o Valley

The views stop you in your tracks at the Waipio Valley lookout, where a dramatic backdrop of lush cliffs drops into the sparkling blue ocean

It is a decidedly long day, but it flew by. Jason, our guide, is very knowledgeable and entertaining. If you have only a short time on the island, this tour is a way to see everything without the hassle of driving.

You see a lot in one day. We enjoyed the stops and the beautiful views. Our tour guide was very nice and very knowledgeable. However his presentation was dry and boarded on boring. The tour is worth it, but we did learn that the guide can make a big difference.

We had a wonderful day driving around the entirety of big island and visiting the hot spots thid tour offers. Our guide Stefan was very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a great time. Even though we spent wuite some time on the van it was perfectly comfortable. The snacks provided were quite tasty (local chips and chocolate, protein bars, lots of water and local sodas) and the lunch we ate at the volcano national park was delicious. Overall we had a fafntastic time, it is well worth the ticket price.
