Pono and Woody were our guides. Both the type of guys that demonstrated knowledge of the landscape and their passion for zip lining. They made the trip less scary ( hell .. how many times in life do you have to jump off a cliff towards a waterfall?).
I am a local resident returned. And, I came back home to see friends and family. But during my 35 years of residence on the Big Island, I never had a guest visiting me who wanted to go zip lining. And, to do this alone, was something I just could not have left my beautiful garden to go do alone. BUT I SHOULD HAVE......
Instead I waited until a friend said she wanted to go......
And, boy am I glad she raised the idea and convinced me to spend the $177 dollars for the experience. Its not cheap.. that's for sure ( especially since during covid so many of us, like myself became unemployed). BUT IT IS WELL WORTH MONEY SPENT.
The welcome to the visitor center by some young working moms ( lovely local girls with beautiful dispositions and ALOHA) made start to finish a great experience.
Once back to work on the mainland, and on my next return visit to the Big Island, when the pocket book is a bit bigger, I will definitely go again....
Plus, did I forget... YES... the BOTANICAL GARDEN WALK..... For anyone who loves horticulture, is a gardener, this walk around the property is really an extra plus. Go early or stay late and enjoy the "roses" ( well not really.. more like enjoying the GINGER PLANTS and BIRDS OF PARADISE and PINEAPPLES and other tropical plants native to Hawaii but not most of the mainland).
THIS IS GREAT SOLO FUN AS WELL AS FAMILY FUN....
TAKE A BREAK, SPEND YOUR DOLLAR, TIP THE GUIDES AND HAVE A BREAK at the BOTANICAL WORLD ADVENTURES....
