We did the 12 A.M. rafting tour from Beacon 42. It was amazing! We got to see schools of mullet jumping and lightning up the water and tons of shooting stars! I highly recommend this tour and we will definitely be making another trip. Our guide Dan was great!

The tour itself was really great! What made it awesome was the clear sky and meteor shower beginning. The guides were very skilled and helpful. I came as a single kayaker and was glad to find another attendee who needed a kayak partner. I think it would be good if BK indicated the need to attend with a partner. The clear kayaks are a wide design, so be prepared to handle it differently. I'm 5'5" and quite capable in a kayak, and I had difficulty balancing at first; especially with a partner. Definitely better to see the bioluminescence in clear kayaks.

After some confusion with my booking earlier that day I was going into the experience with some slight hesitation. HOWEVER everything turned out perfect. The directions were good, the managing of the group worked (BK had 3 groups of assorted sizes plus groups from other companies in the same space) and best of all the tour was fabulous!! Steve & Jerry were pleasant, helpful, and interested in what they were doing. (They can be requested) Despite all of the groups on the water we really didn't see another group once we left the launch area. It felt like a private tour with no obvious reminders of the other 50 + people on the water in the vicinity. I have no other tours to compare to but I thought we saw a lot of bioluminescence, cone jellies, fish and tons of stars. The mosquitoes thinned out once we were on the water and in the breeze. Insect spray is a must for the launch area and first few minutes out minimum!!! I suggest doing your research before so you know what to expect. I did a quick internet search to verify the best time to see the bioluminescence. Nature is variable and this company cannot promise anything. There is information out there about what you may see when. Call the office if you still have questions. Although its plenty dark enough on the water if possible try and book near the new moon for optimal viewing.
