Joshua McNulty and Elijah gave us the tour of a lifetime. The Bioluminescence was a unique experience and I have never seen a a more amazing star filled night. The location was the perfect spot to enjoy Mother Nature at its finest. BK Adventures was professional and made our safety their top priority. I highly recommend this group!

2 hours being bitten by mosquitos 2 minutes of bioluminescence 90+ mosquito bites 5 days of allergy medicine $220 (for four) that will ruin your vacation They don't tell you that you'll be departing from Mosquito Lagoon until you book the trip. The only warning the company provides it to add insect spray to the list of things to bring along with water and unclear directions. The second I got out of my car I was bitten on my ankle. The rest of the two hours I was bitten almost one hundred times. I take safety and health very seriously, and this company did very little to provide a realistic picture that we should expect mosquitos. With West Nile and Zika being valid concerns, there should be a warning especially for those who swell up from one bite. I literally ran to my car and grabbed allergy medication after begging our tour guide to take us back. My youngest child was so affected he began thinking of his death. The others in our raft were just as miserable. Even the tour guide was itching.

Sorry to hear that you had an allergy to mosquitoes. We do indeed have several places on our website that mention the mosquito factor, and there is a paragraph about it on our FAQ for this tour. We always recommend people bring insect repellent as we cannot predict which nights will have a few or which nights will have many mosquitoes. We operate on a wildlife refuge and there are many things in nature including rain, wind, time of day that can affect how many insects will be present. That is not within our control, and we launch in the areas where there is absolutely the most bioluminescence at the moment (and it is very good right now). We can only recommend that if people want to go on this tour to see bioluminescence, they are prepared for a wildlife event, which includes mosquitoes. Sorry that the mosquitoes were particularly bad on the night you went, but that is not always the case. There are many mosquitoes around every body of water in Florida. That should be 100% expected. Again, it does say on several places on our website and in the confirmation letter to bring insect repellent. Sorry if you missed that. We will do better to let people know that they should bring insect repellent. We always have plenty on-site for guests to use. We also take safety and health absolutely seriously.

Our kayaking trip with BK Adventures was well organized. They were prepared for us and helpful. Max, our guide, was knowledgeable, funny and very aware of us at all times. Jerry was great too. We saw active manatees, dolphins, osprey, jumping mullet and bioluminescent jellies/wake. Highly recommend this unusual kayak trip to all. The stars during the nighttime part of the outing were unbelievable and the sunset view from the water is well worth the drive to Haulover Canal.
