I want to give a big shout out to Joy, Captian Mike & Matt for squeezing me in on there tour last minute after other tour company departed early & left behind with no phone communication at all. This tour was really over exceeded my expectations starting with the great tour guide Capt Mike who could see & hear so many different wild life in the dark with his natural abilities. The bioluminescence & Jelly comb were definitely the highlight of the tour of course. If you can book this company you won’t regret it. Great service & people. Thanks Guy.

Took the 10pm glass bottom kayak tour to experience the bioluminescent dinoflagellates (a type of plankton) in Sykes Creek. I was met in the parking lot by Captain Michael Knecht who quickly got us set up and ready to launch (just a few steps from the parking area). All equipment was provided, including a small net to try and find Comb Jellies and a water shooter to help experience the amazing blue glow of the plankton when disturbed in the water. The colors in the water were quite bright and I definitely recommend the later tour to minimize and remaining light in the sky. It helps see the colors more brightly. I also was lucky enough to get a tour the day following the new moon, which eliminated additional light in the sky. We paddled close to the mangroves on the shore to help stay in the shadows and it was well worth it for an amazing show. We also experienced schools of fish that would dart quickly around making likes that looked like blue lightening in the water. They would also occasionally jump out of the water creating a glowing splash when landing back in. Once we got further out we were able to put or nets in the water and find a decent number of Comb Jellies. These little clear creatures were about the size of a grape and had 8 combs that can down the length of their bodies. These combs flash with rainbow colors that looked like rows of time LED lights flagging in sequence and then resetting. All jellies were quickly returned to the water. I was also lucky enough to catch glimpse of a bottlenose dolphin doing some late-night hunting and a Blue Herron roosting for the night atop a sign in the middle of the river. Captain Mike had so much info that he was able to share about the local plants, animals, and waterways that the trip was as educational as it was entertaining. The water was so very calm and still, the whole trip was very peaceful. I feel that this trip forms be great for everyone (including novices kayakers). I would highly recommend this trip and Captain Michael Knecht to anyone looking for a leisurely paddle with a really cool "light show"

We did the 10:30pm Bioluminescent kayak tour on Sept. 3 with a half moon in the sky. It was soo cool! I had no idea the bioluminescence was so bright here! Every paddle stroke, or fish that swam by, would create a blue light. When you looked through your glass bottom boat, it looked like millions of stars flying by. So neat! Tour guide was informative, they also give you little nets to try and catch comb jellies with. A couple of us had luck catching one. Be ware though: the mosquitos will get you so wear lots of bug spray!
