Overview

You are privateers making your fortune on the high seas. You have been given a Letter of Marque from the King to capture the notorious pirate, Edward Teach, also known as Blackbeard, and seize his ship and all his stolen treasures. But when you finally track Blackbeard down, things don’t go as planned – rather than capturing him, you’re the ones locked in the brig. You have one hour to escape the brig, take over the ship, and sail to safety with Blackbeard’s treasure before he returns to make you walk the plank.

We were in Denver for a student conference, so we decided to do an escape game. This one is conveniently located near the downtown convention center and had the option to book an entire room. We were a group of 5, played the Blackbeards Brig, and escaped with only 29 seconds to spare. We had a blast because it has costume pieces to find that are unrelated to the puzzles but still fun. Good puzzles, and Percy was very nice and paced any hints we needed well (those combo locks gave us issues even though we had the code).

This room stands out for its attention to detail; the amount of props and decoration is among the best I've seen, and there's an interactive surprise near the end that makes it stand out positively. Unfortunately this is the only room I got to try here, but the next time I'm in Denver I'll be sure to do another.

I went went with a group of coworkers and had an amazing time! Tobi was great at explaining all the rules prior to our game and Ron did an excellent job at giving us clues when we were stuck. Easily my favorite escape room I've ever done and now I want to take my friends here too!
