Overview

We pick you up! Our tour offers a driver/seasoned local guide who will pick you up at your accommodation within 3 miles of city center (One North Pack Square) or will meet you at a convenient location in downtown Asheville if you are staying outside that distance. The excursion will take you through beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three impressive waterfalls and two protected forests as well as a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway (weather permitting) to discover the amazing views surrounding this iconic road that connects two National Parks.

We provide all window, captain's chair seating in a comfortable, climate controlled van. Drinks/snacks are included.

IMPORTANT Guest should be prepared for walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over a period of 2 hours, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking.

We will return to Asheville by approximately 1:30 p.m.

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

The tour includes a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, (when open), an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. (Note: During winter months the Blue Ridge Parkway may be closed due to ice and snow)

Pisgah Forest

Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations.

DuPont State Recreational Forest

Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the approximately 3 mile hiking portion of the tour on trails rated easy to moderate. There are stops along the way that will give you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that are included. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

My wife and I went on a Waterfall hike with Keith. We did not have a lot of expectations, just wanted to enjoy some extra time in the Asheville area. What we got was a day we will never forget. Keith has a real passion for nature, and enjoys sharing it with others. From sharing the local plant life, to the history of the land itself, Keith provided us with a rich memory we will not soon forget. My husband and I really enjoyed this tour, and Keith was great! He shared his knowledge of the rich history of the area as we drove up the parkway to the falls. We stopped at Sliding Rock, and then on to three other beautiful waterfalls. As we walked to and from the falls he frequently made sure the pace fit everyone's needs. The trails were at times paved or very well traveled which made for easy walking. However, I would recommend that if you have any walking difficulties, have problems with stairs or tire easily that you call and discuss it with him to be sure you are up for the trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and are looking forward to taking another tour to different falls as soon as possible.

We started out in Asheville on the Blue Ridge Mountain Pkwy. Keith's knowledge of the area, the land and the foliage was impressive. He also served up a wonderful history about the Vanderbilt's AND the importance of the federal government in preserving this wonderful space for future generations. We then traveled to Du Pont National Park and the views of these waterfalls was...breathtaking. I could have sat out there for hours but alas...reality called.
