Overview

Travel through rugged Clear Creek Canyon on your way up the highest paved road in North America into the Mount Blue Sky/Evans Wilderness Area (admission included) where you will reach an altitude of over 12,800 feet at beautiful Summit Lake and 14,265 feet (4,348 meters) if conditions allow us to the summit. See breathtaking views of the Majestic Rocky Mountains, and view bighorn sheep and mountain goats in their natural environment. Stop for lunch and shopping in Idaho Springs, a real old-western town, before returning back to Denver.

Breathtakingly beautiful high alpine lake. Enjoy a walk to the lake and down the trail to overlook the Chicago Lakes and valleys below. We often encounter out State Mammal the Bighorn Sheep at this beautiful stop.

Mount Evans

Reach 14,270 Feet at the summit of Mt. Blue Sky (Mt. Evans). Enjoy not only breathtaking 360 degree views but take an optional hike to the summit of the peak. We are lucky enough to share the summit with local bighorn sheep, mountain goats, marmots, and pika that call the summit home. The Views from one of the highest peaks in the Rocky Mountain are not to be missed.

It was terrific to leave the driving to someone else and have the opportunity to search for wildlife or gaze at the beautiful scenery from your seat. This group of photographers appreciated the entertaining guide who provided both history of the area and commentary on the ecosystems we visited. We were so fortunate to spot a moose early in the trip, and enjoyed the many Big-horned Sheep, Mountain Goats, and Marmots at the summit. I recommend going during late July to add the abundant and colorful wildflowers to each and every photo of your adventure. Our lunch stop was Idaho Springs, and there were many tasty restaurants with outdoor seating available.

Variety of places where we stopped was well chosen. Many kinds of topography and scenes for taking great pictures. Vehicle was comfortable and safe. Guide was friendly, knowledgeable and provided much history about the area theoughout the tour. A great value for the money. Many places we stopped and every place was affordable. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. We really liked going all the way to the top of the mountain. Would definitely book another trip with this company. Thanks for all the fun and great value for the price. So glad we didn't rent a vehicle and try to find everything ourselves!
